How did you get into graphic design? I've always loved drawing, from as early an age as I can remember. Creating my own cartoon characters or sketching anything I saw. My first taste of Graphic Design came at school when studying at GCSE level. From that and my Art studies I was given the opportunity of work experience at a working studio which I jumped at and undeniably thrived off. So much so that once work experience was all over and done with I insisted on calling in every other day to work on some small jobs for nothing but the insight. Once school was near enough done I was offered a position at the same studio as an art worker to start with but worked my way up to be graphic designer.
What do you do? Graphic Designer.
What do you do when you're not doing that? Spend time with my partner - although she may say not enough time, Computer Games - this may partly be to blame for my first answer, Football - I enjoy playing the beautiful game as well as watching it, Music - Watching bands, I did play the drums for a number of years which has caused me to develop a need to tap, at all times!
What do you enjoy most about working at Urban Juice? The relaxed working environment, strong work ethics and team members with great characters. We do usually have music playing which leads to interesting debates due to the varied tastes!
What are some of your favourite projects that you've completed and why? I'd have to say some of my favourite pieces of design are those that are seen in shops for everybody to see such as product packaging. It never fails to amuse me when I see my own designs used outside of the studio environment and sitting on shelves saying, "fancy seeing you here," or "I know your face". New businesses are always good projects to work on also as you create there new image and then watch them flourish.
What are the tools of the trade that you use the most? My desktop (sometimes gets a little cluttered with files), left handed mouse (I am often abused for my infliction), pencil, keyboard quick keys.
What's your favourite gadget? SNES.
What's your favourite colour? Blue (Pantone 2935).
Who's your favourite cartoon character? Tom & Jerry (it would be unfair to separate them!)
If you could be any superhero, who would it be and why? Batman without a doubt. I was always obsessed with the Caped Crusader and always wished that one day I'd have a Bat Cave under the house!
In a fight who would win, Mac or PC? It would be an epic battle but in the final hour of decades worth of battling, Mac would use their superior know how, charm and all round good looks to punish PC and send them spiralling into a great depression of viruses, errors and egg timers!
Who's the best James Bond? Roger Moore.
Who do you most admire and why? It may be a predictable choice but it's my Dad. He's always worked harder than anybody I've known and outside of work given us all his time as youngsters playing football and so on. (Behind every great man there is a great woman so not forgetting my mum at all x).
If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would you choose and why? I would invite the founder of Fox's Biscuits for dinner to congratulate him on making the best biscuits known to man. If you don't believe me just ask Vinnie!
If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why? 25th May 2005, Istanbul, Ataturk Olympic Stadium - Liverpool v Milan - Half time, 0 - 3 down ... Place your bets on Liverpool winning!
If you were going to a deserted island and could only take three things with you, what would you take and why?Mug of milk (must be out of the mug, it just tastes better that way), clean pair of socks (can't beat that fresh feeling) and a football (which can double up as a companion, "Wilson!").
If one song were to describe your life, what song would it be? The Verve - Lucky Man.
Recommend a computer game, a book and a film. Batman: Arkham Asylum, The Hobbit, Toy Story.
